That book meme that's going around
List 10 books that have stayed with you - they do not have to be great works or classics....just ones that have stayed with you!

In no particular order:

1. Winnie the Pooh by A.A. Milne
2. Speaker for the Dead by Orson Scott Card - though I now disavow its author for many reasons known to most.
3. Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien
4. The Lonely Doll by Dare Wright
5. Tao Te Ching translated by Stephen Mitchell
6. Teach Us to Outgrow Our Madness by Kenzeboro Oe
7. Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert A. Heinlein
8. The Lions of Al-Rassan by Guy Gavriel Kay
9. To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
10. The Shadow of the Sun by Ryzard Kapuchinski

Oh I loved Tigana by Guy Gavriel Kay. And The Lions too, but I loved Tigana.

Stranger in a Strange Land was something else too!

\o/ To Kill A Mockingbird!!!!!

I think I'm with you with Tigana over The Lions.

I couldn't get into Tigana as much as the others! I'm an outlier, I know :)

Arbonne is possibly my favourite, and Under Heaven.

Song for Arbonne and Under Heaven are amazing too!!!

Kay is so gifted. Have you read the sequel to Under Heaven? I bought it but I haven't had a chance to read it yet.

I love both of these books, desperately. I considered briefly putting both of them on my list.

But, Rodrigo and Ammar are my Peter and Neal of literature.

The Lonely Doll - Oh does that bring back memories.

I had all of the books in series. I lost them unfortunately.

I remember going with my mom to get them one by one at Bloomingdale's near Roosevelt Field. They had a book department when I was young. Those are special memories.
